— ABOUT US

Built for the Road Ahead.

Built for the Road Ahead.

At HD Shocks, we recognized the need for a high-performance, serviceable shock designed specifically for the demands of heavy-duty vehicles. HD Shocks are developed for applications including RVs and Super C motorhomes, semi trucks, commercial and work trucks, service trucks, heavy haulers, specialty vehicles, and heavy-duty pickups.

Our goal is simple: improve suspension control, stability, and ride quality by matching the shock to the vehicle, its weight, suspension configuration, and how it is actually used.

HD Shocks are manufactured by King Shocks and use proven monotube shock technology adapted and tuned for demanding heavy-duty applications.

Application-Specific Engineering

A motorhome, work truck, semi, and heavy hauler can have very different suspension requirements, even when they share similar chassis components. That is why HD Shocks are selected and tuned around the application rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our heavy-duty shock designs use large-diameter monotube construction with an internal floating piston (IFP). HD Shocks are rebuildable, serviceable, and tunable, allowing them to be maintained and adjusted as application requirements change.

Proven Across Heavy-Duty Applications

HD Shocks are used on RVs and Super C motorhomes, semi trucks, commercial fleets, service trucks, heavy haulers, specialty vehicles, and heavy-duty pickups.

Real-world customer and fleet experience, vehicle testing, application development, and shock dyno testing continue to help us refine shock configurations for the vehicles and industries we serve.

Built to Be Serviced, Not Thrown Away

HD Shocks are designed with long-term serviceability in mind. Rather than treating the shock as a disposable component, our shocks can be rebuilt, serviced, and re-tuned.

Whether the vehicle spends its life on the highway, carries heavy loads, operates commercially, or travels thousands of miles as an RV, our focus remains the same: develop the right shock for the application and support it for the road ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes HD Shocks different from standard shocks?

HD Shocks are large-diameter monotube IFP shocks developed specifically for heavy-duty applications. Fitment and tuning are selected around factors such as vehicle weight, suspension configuration, and intended use. HD Shocks are also rebuildable, serviceable, and tunable.

Start with your vehicle year, make, model, chassis, suspension configuration, and current shock information. Some heavy-duty vehicles use different shock configurations even within the same model, so additional measurements or OEM shock numbers may be needed to confirm the correct application.

Shocks control suspension movement. Properly selected and tuned shocks can improve suspension control and help reduce excessive bouncing, porpoising, and body movement. Results vary depending on the vehicle, suspension, tires, loading, and other chassis components.

The 2.5 and 3.0 Series use different shock body and piston sizes, providing different oil capacities and damping capabilities. The best choice depends on the vehicle, weight, suspension, use, and available fitment rather than simply choosing the largest shock.

Yes. HD Shocks are designed to be rebuilt and serviced. They can also be re-tuned when needed, allowing the shock to be maintained rather than treated as a disposable component.

HD Shocks are rebuildable and designed for long-term use in heavy-duty highway applications. Based on our experience, we believe approximately 200,000 miles is a reasonable service target for many primarily highway-driven applications, although actual service life depends on vehicle weight, road conditions, duty cycle, and use. We also have HD Shocks currently in service with customers reporting more than 300,000 miles of use. Because HD Shocks are rebuildable and serviceable, they can be inspected, serviced, and rebuilt as needed rather than simply discarded.
