Each part has one job
Your suspension works as a team. Springs and airbags hold the weight. Sway bars limit how far the body leans. Shocks control how fast everything moves.
Why shocks come first
A sway bar can't stop bounce, and airbags can't stop the rocking that follows a bump or a gust of wind. Only the shock controls that motion. If your shocks are worn, the other parts can't do their jobs well.
Where sway bars fit
A sway bar ties the left and right sides together so the body leans less in corners and wind. It helps a lot with sway, but it does nothing for up and down bounce.
Where airbags fit
Airbags and air suspension hold up the load and set ride height. They change how the rig sits, not how fast it moves. Change your ride height and your shock length may need to change too.
The order we recommend
- Shocks first.
- Then sway bars.
- Then load or air control.
Fixing them in that order means each upgrade builds on the last instead of covering for a worn part.
